Hello, dear readers,
As some of my long-time subscribers may know, I’ve been tinkering with the idea of folklore (yes, the album) as a novel for about 2 years at this point, and began writing about it on TikTok at this time in 2022 (while I was in my intern year of residency in psychiatry, and very much looking for a creative outlet).
As someone interested in narrative medicine and a lover of books and writing, this has led me over the past few months to concentrate my efforts on getting this novel out of my head and onto the page. With the announcement of another literary album by Miss Swift this past week, I took it as a sign, that now was the time. As I already have had some chapters written for my MFA application earlier in the winter, I knew it was possible.
All of this chatter to say, I now present to you chapter one of seventeen of folklore, the novel (margaret’s version). I hope you’ll enjoy reading it even a smidge as much as I’ve enjoyed building a world around the album.
If you’re interested in it, I’d love to have feedback on it. I may eventually post it on Wattpad or somewhere else, but first wanted to send it out here. Additionally, I find a pdf, where I can format the font etc, more enjoyable as a reading experience.
